NC23 'BOGGING DOWN'

Post by c7ll » Tue Nov 09, 2010 4:33 pm

Hello All,

My NC23 tends to bog down off the line.

Only happens when up to tempreture and onyl when pulling away from a standstill

Runs fine across the rest of the rev range

Is this a sign of rich or lean on the idle mixture (currently set at 2.5 turns out) or something else?

Cheers,

C

If it gets worse when warm that suggests it's rich.
Blip the throttle from tickover - if the revs hang above idle before returning to idle it's lean, if the revs drop below idle then pick up back to idle it's rich.

My 400/4 did this after a rebuild....

After much headscratching I found one of the sparkplugs had worked loose with the resulting loss of compression.

Revs seem to level out straight away no floating or dipping but my guess is running rich as it gets worse the hotter the bike becomes.

Will check the plugs before adjusting the mixture.

Thanks for your help.

Mine does exactly this, in fact if i just try to move off normally it bogs down and will die.

if i just slowly turn accelerator to make the revs build slowly it is fine.

Its as if, blipping the throttle makes it die. Not a great help in traffic.

Did you sort what it was for your bike?

Mine was a Fueling issue, leaning in the Idle helped but it's still not perfect, could be coils or ht leads struggling at low revs or plugs perhaps
