Yet another nightmare any ideas?

Post by Scarth » Mon May 30, 2011 1:00 pm

Front brake discs

Ebc pro lite front discs

Took the front wheel off the nc to find one of the front discs is quite loose the the middle part that's gold.
I know they are floating put you can really moove these with your hand

Can you tighten the rivet thing up slightly or what?

It even rattles slightly on the bike

Or is it just a new disc job..?

i think you can get new rivets but youll need them fitting at a bike shop as its a speciallist tool, but for what its worth based on them wearing its better to get new discs.

have you measured them?

They are supposed to move side to side, not front to back.

If they do, replace the bobbins. (EBC supply race discs with a set of bobbins to replace the first set when they wear)

The rattling sounds normal.. especially if there more race orientated discs.

They are there for expansion, as the disc gets hot and expands it fills the gap and they stop rattling.. otherwise the disc would warp (bend)

I could move my ZXR ones left and right with my hands.. there not supposed to move forwards and backwards tho.. this means the rivits wearing out

its usually the center that wears out,i have seen a pro lite were the rivetts had nearly worn through the center.
