BHP for a standard NC29 ?

Post by vr46 » Sun Apr 19, 2009 9:02 pm

Hi All,

I've been told that the standard BHP at the rear wheel for NC29 is 50BHP, is that right :?:

You can check for the specifications of your bike at the link given below... mine is a 91 L model (59bhp , 44KW@12500rpm), the L and N model produced 59bhp, but found the R model was changed to a lower capacity 53bhp, 39.5KW@13000rpm. I don't know the reason.

Ahhh  I think I have an R model, because my bike is making nowhere near 59BHP.

How do I fix the problem and get more like 59 BHP?

Do I fit carb rubbers from a different model?

Thanks all :) !!

when i spoke to graeme he said they were in the carb rubber itself.
should just be glued in, apparently they're just like the 33bhp restrictors?
best thing to do would be is ring him.

I have the R model and just have had my carbs apart, I could not see any restrictions in mine but did notice a groove (ledge?) that is presumably for restrictors as I tried some metal ones I had and they fit fine. BTW dont buy the carb rubbers from China on ebay, they dont fit and have a thicker mounting as I found out to my cost.

After reading this thread I have dug out the dyno result for my NC29.

68.3bhp @ 12844rpm and 4.3Kgm (stupid metric torque units) @ 10465rpm.

Sounds impressive, but this was done in January 2002 using an obnoxiously loud exhuast :spank: and I'm not so sure if it is that power stat is applicable now, especially with my more village-friendly :peace: end can!

Thanks all, I'm gonna fit carb rubbers from an earlier model and see how it goes :)
