Have I got missing engine bolts ?

Howdy guys

OK I'm a new NC35 owner, got a 97 RVF 400.

When I got the bike the speedo wasnt working, so today I took side fairing off and had a look, when you spun the wire at the top of the cable it wasnt spinning at the bottom, gave it a clean and got it working, the cable sits in a slot in the bottom bit and thats what turns it and it had come out.

So anyway while the fairing was off I spotted a potential problem ...

No bolt through the bottom of the frame into the engine :o BOTH sides :o now this can't be right ... can it ?

Please tell me that me engine isnt only held in with the one top bolt and it should look like this *crosses fingers*

Thanks in advance.

nope...missing bolts mate... :o

The NC30 doesn't use them bolts so you'll be OK...but wonder why it has not got them.
Is that engine painted or just filthy?

Oh man ... :( what kinda idiot would sell a bike in that condition thats really annoyed me that :(

Any ideas where I can buy em from ? is there a good parts specialist for the RVF 400 ?

Also does anyone know what parts I need, is it just 2 spacers and 2 engine mounting bolts ?

Man I hope they go in ok, oh am gutted now, the more I look at this bike the more tell tale signs I am seeing of crash damage / track abuse :(

Thanks for clearing that up anyway guys, appreciate it.

isn't that where crash bungs are attached? Just a thought but the chap who sold it might have removed all trick bits, including bungs before selling it to make a few extra ££ and just forgotten to replace the bolts?

Cheers for the input guys.

WOW jowyvfr that makes total sense, if crash bungs do go in there I would like to get a set, any ideas whats the best bungs to get and what will fit the RVF ?

Also, would I still need the spacers ?

I found lings honda online that seam to sell the parts, so maybe just spacers and bungs would be the right option here ?

Any advice grateful

All thats left is to order some tyga levers tomorrow and thats me zero at bank again  but hopefully me engine won't fall out now
