Tyre advice needed - 160 profile?

Took the RVF down to the tyre shop today to see what my options were for some new rubber and was told that the best tyre in a 150/60/17 was the new Pirelli Diablo Rosso.
The other option they offered me was the Michelin 2CT, but these are only available in a 160/60/17 - would this profile be ok on the NC35?
After reading some reviews, the 2CT seems the better tyre of the 2 - just concerned about the profile. Any advice?

Ive had a Vfr on 150/60/18 which was fine, a cbr 400 on 120/70/17 front and 160/60 17 rear which was harder work to lean over but once there was planted, and ive now got a rvf 400 on 120/60 17 front and 150/60 17 rear which is perfect. But I wouldnt have any worries about going back to a 160/60 17 rear again.

What do they mean by best? What sort of riding do you do? What do you want from the tyre, milage or grip?
That particular tyre may not be 'the best' at anything for a 400cc bike, there are better options. I also wouldn't go for a 2ct, I'm just naturally suspicious of tyres designed for large bikes and then made in small bike sizes, the requirements of each are very different.
The below options will probably be cheaper than what you were recommended and are all I would use:
If you want mega grip, get bridgestone BT090's or Dunlop GPR-alphas.
If you want mileage while still being able to have some fun get BT092's or GPR100's.
