NC24 7000 rev limit

I've bought an NC24 off ebay this week, no real history with bike, but the one thing i've managed to work out already is that there seems to be a 7k rev limit. Looking at the wiring and taking the speedo apart, there is no speed limiter and only the two wires into the speed indicator light. The only way it seems it _could_ be rev limited is directly in the CDi and there is only an output to the tachometer.

I've not complete stripped it yet, ie looked at the carbs, carb rubbers etc, nor had the chance to test it on a decent bit of road. Any guidance welcome

There is no limiter.

I've never actually disconnected the 'speed' warning light so that may cause problems if its not connected.

If it's not revving up it's probably due to fuel / air issues such as manky carbs, blocked jets etc etc. :)

There easy enough to work on once you get used to where everything is.

Plugs are fiddly, but not too bad

Valve clearances must be done but are a pain in the arse with the engine in the frame.

Engine must come out to remove collector box and rear down pipes.

Carbs are awkward to mess with / balance as there in the small V.

Have fun :D

Any problems, feel free to ask :)

just taken the bike for an early morning spin...it sluggish < 4k but gets going above that and pull well above that and gets to 100mph no problem.

just wondering if the tacho is reporting correctly...and / or something else. Off to the shed later for a strip and clean of the carbs, plugs etc. Bikes been stood for > 2 years so an oil change coming....

more on the bike here.
