Any mods I should do as I rebuild her ?

Post by sharky » Sat May 16, 2009 5:43 am

As you may know I am rebuilding an NC 29 for the wife. It is now fully stripped and I was wondering if there were any modifications that you fellas do ?
For example:
I see a few bikes that mention 'ram air conversion'...How is this done on the cbr ?
Is it worth fitting a K&N filter and dynojet on a road bike?
Does it move the power up the rev range at the expense of bottom end ?
Fork springs...changed to progressive ?
CBR600 rear shock ....much improvement ?

new springs and thicker fork oil and cbr 6 rear shock sorts out the handling, service the calipers and braided lines sorts out the brakes, i would'nt personally bother with ram air on a road bike you would'nt get much improvement

what he said about ram air, its pretty pointless on a road bike, decent carb set up if you have a race can will make a world of diference, Dynojet its self is not needed but a good 1/2 day having it set up properly on a dyno is worth every penny.

Oh and the only thing that makes a K&N any better is the fact it can be cleaned and reused they give zero performance.
