front sprocket :P

hey guys i am trying to remove my front sprocket on my nc30, all the bolts on this bike have been done up so !!!!!!!! tight it ant funny,
i am just wondering if theres a trick to getting the bastard of a bolt undone and if its a left hand thread by any chance as i dun want to be turning it the wrong way hehe

its a normal thread on it so turning the nut the normal way is the way to go...........

i would use a breaker bar which gives you much better leverage,get someone to apply the rear brake and leave it in gear for a little bit extra help.apply some wd40 or similar to aid in the removal........ :D

+1 for the breaker bar. found having one a godsend.

its up there with my other favourite and most useful tools, being my rubber mallet and cup of coffee.

Windy gun every time - leave chain on - in gear - take up transmission backlash then rear brake on - not failed yet ...

tried the penetrating lube overnight then a breaker bar with rear brake on n didnt budge not to keen on putting it in gear :S cause its on so effin tight ay

I got myself one of the halfords professional breaker bars, its about 3 foot long, but I still couldn't undo the clutch nut when I was doing my clutch, so I had a metal tube about 1.5 foot long in the garage which I used as well and that did the job. I still had to have it in gear with the rear brake on though.

And when it finally came undone I smacked my knee, but worth the pain in the end :roll:
