iv got a pin hole leak in my rad that you only notice when the bike gets hot and is being reved quite high, im going to buy 1 of rick o's rads but would like to use my bike in the mean time beacuse of all this nice weather!

i was just wondering if any1 has used radweld in the past, will it piss up my cooling system?

Ive used it in a Mini and it was really good. 2 bottles of it stopped water pissing out of my waterpump and I ran the car for about 6 months before i changed it. I didnt notice the car getting any hotter than normal or anything like that.

Not sure how good it would be in a bike, the cooling system is working quite hard anyway so anything thats going to clog up the internals doesnt sound like a good plan.

Have you thought about araldite over the pinprick hole? Or maybe a small self tapping screw? I know they are both bodges but they might work as a short term fix.

hey thanks for your advice..! iv just been to halfords and go some loctite stuff that does the same job so il give that a go, i know what u mean about putting stuff in the system :S, i know on a an engine which runs over 10k revs it could be asking for trouble.

if it doesnt work its not the end of the world il just have to wait until i can afford a new rad off rick

I would try and stay away from the Radweld. The cooling system isnt the best anyway! If it is tiny as above seal the hole for now!

get some chemical metal have used this twice without problems, one of them was a large hole on my fireblade and it worked a treat

swopped my 916 rad out for a much nicer cleaner one a few weeks back only to find this one has a tiny tiny hole and needs sealing up.
Was thinking about radweld but dont like the idea of clogging the rest of the system up.
chemical metal - now there's a thought.
