Hi all, clutch cables

my cable is at full adjustment at both ends but it feels like its not engaging completely when the leaver is pulled completely in.

bought a new cable from my local bike shop but its not a genuine honda one, its around 30cm longer than the stardard.
when fitted i have to have it at full adjustment and it still feels like its not engaging.
does this mean my clutchplates are on the way out? im not getting any slippage while riding hard

i know there are a couple special tools required to fit the clutch so if im gonna do the job myself ill have to buy those too i guess.

Ive got a Haynes and have looked it over seems pretty straightforward just need a couple tools.

thoughts?

cheers and sorry for the newb question

Get a refund on the cable you bought, then buy a proper Honda cable and try that first - anything a foot longer than original is clearly not designed to fit the NC30, and the bike shop are taking the piss out of you.

And welcome! There's no such thing as a noob question - we all have to start somewhere!
