Hi all, I am on a learning curve with regarded to tuning the carbies on my fzr400. I have come across two terms which I would appreciate a definition for.

"Hunts"
as in "The engine surges or hunts when cruising at part-throttle"

"eight-strokes"
as in "The engine eight-strokes as it loads up."

Thanks in advance.

hunting = say at idle u set ya idle speed to 1200rpm and the engine will raise and lower the revs on its own to say 1000rpm and 1300/1400rpm ie. hunting for the set idle the same can be said for riding your riding along on a constant throttle and the engine seems to gain and loose revs with out any input from your right hand.

as for 8 strokes ive never heard of it maybe if we shout loud enough EVIL will hear us and shed some light on the subject.

EVVVIIIILLLLL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

actually sounds like my first half dozen or so wanks when I was an excitable teenager.

Oh bugger, I think I just lowered the tone.

8 strokes is going to be a rowing term?

Mut be that it is coming in the power in great dollops of surging..

Who talks like this anyways? English has plenty of words to use without making up some naff ones..lol :Soap:
