My nc has been sitting for about a year and have recently had it running with no problems now for a couple of weeks but not taken it out for a test run.....the other day i removed both rads to repaint them since putting them back on the bike would not start? it tried to but was mis firing and poping from exhuast , now wont start at all.... today i have checked everything thinking it could be electrical but all seems ok apart from i abviously cant check the cdi unit now i have resulted in removing the carbs to overhaul them...... any ideas or pointers on what it could be ????

silly question but did you dislodge a ht lead in the process of removing/refitting the rads, sounds like flooded plugs, ive done it and it usually results in dead plugs

my problem was a dead battery !! after a strip down and a good old scrub the nc battery completely died . . . so i charged her overnight. next day she would turn over fine but no firing whatsoever after 10 minutes of priming the carbs (airbox was off), cleaning plugs, checking ht leads and jabbing at the starter the battery was showing sings of weakness once again !! so i hooked up a slave car battery with some jump leads and . . . vvvrrhhhaoooom !! started on the button !!

i thought i must have knocked something or wiggled a connector somewhere or . . . so i disconected the leads and nothing . . . turning over full speed, a bit of a splutter but nothing . . . reconnect the leads and she was a 'go er' again . . . disconect . . . ect . . .

although the motr was turning over fairly well i suppose the battery just didn't have quite enough beans to provide a solid spark for good ignition . . .
