Two thoughts.... either:

Ask if anyone who has a restricted NC29 can measure the restriction washer dimensions for you can then you can give them to a machine shop and get some made.

OR

Dont bother restricting it. Unless you ride like an idiot, nothing tends to come of it. Even the unmarked car that pulled me over didnt think to ask.

Good luck :)

Not having it restricted invalidates your insurance so not a good call in case the worst does happen..

You do not have to pay £250 for the restriction with FI. it is a blag. You do need to get it restricted with the washers and then get a cheap dyno run on it to prove the power output. keep a copy of that sheet to send to your insurance company to prove your restriction.

cost for that...aout £50 all in and peace of mind that you are riding legally in accord with your licence etc.

Welcome to the site too... ;)

agree with the above, dont worry not the first time this has come up. i was in same situation. first make sure your insurance company are happy to take dyno readout (dont let on too much when speaking to them as a lot of them wont actually know what your talking about) take down the name of who you spoke with all details (play the same game insurance company).
try, very politely, emailing this (have pm 'd you) address. his name is roy and about a year ago i was going to get a set off him as he had access to laser cutting and the right sizes to make nc29 s, a set for 20quid, may or may not get a reply tho....he was massively helpful with phone calls and all the right advice.

was he a member?

My insurance company (bennetts) never asked for any proof of restriction, which is just as well really lol.

However the law only states you need to restrict it, doesn't say you need to prove it. In the case of an accident they can check the bike over to make sure its restricted.
And if you get asked for proof (unheard of tbh) then get it to a dyno place.

Be a little careful - at the dyno I use the other day to find the police had commissioned a power run on a bike .... it was on before one of our customer race bikes.

Its happening out there.

what i hate about 33bhp restriction is when you inform insurance co. they log it as a engine modification and your policy goes up!!!

FFS its law to have this, why should you get penalised for what you have to do by law!

What gets my back up is that when restricted all its doing is taking you a bit longer to get up to a speed of 100mph of which you can kill yourself just as easy as doing 120!! I can't see the point. Example: I have been riding a Aprilia RS125 for about 2 years. Was having problems with the U turn during lessons on a 500 (5ft 1 and about 8 and a half stone) so decided it best that i do test on 125 ( not that you do a u turn in real life anyhow!). A guy that has been doing lessons with me has done 2 days on a 500 after never riding a bike...EVER, and he has got a Fireblade (900) waiting in the garage! Tell me, who's the safest one? Why should I be the one to have restrictions after 2 years experience??? It's all Bo**ocks if you ask me! :Bmods:

"not that you do a u turn in real life anyhow!"
strange how reality is somewhat different. i do a U turn at least 3-5 times a WEEK on my CBR400. to park up out side my place i need to ride past, U turn on to the dropped curb and ride back up to my door.

as to the chap with a 900 blade waiting for him.. i dont agree with DAS, most DAS passes have accidents with in the 1st year, its harder to pass a DAS yet its exactly the same test as a 33bhp (up till end of this month). only the cc of the bike is the difference.
and what gets me is how so many training schools get away with not offering the 33bhp test to anyone OVER 21yrs old!! its as if it no longer exists. anyone any age can do 33bhp test, they just forget to inform you of it as they get more money with DAS.
