USD options

OK, so what is needed to have some upside-downies??? Does the spec have to match that of the standard ones ie length from spindle to yokes etc so as not to upset the handling? I know there are RVF, Ducati and ZXR options, but I guess with the right engineering anything will fit. I don't really care that they are heavier and offer no better performance than my current RWU ones but if I sold what I have I'd have a few £100 to spend and get it paid for. Rick O kitted later spec forks, new powdercoated wheel, waveys, brand new bolts all round, preload adjusters, Brembos, brackets, GSX-R m/c and braided hoses etc. Probably enough to pay for an USD system and a little out of my pocket for a fitting kit.

I remember seeing an R1 front end and a GSX-R front end too. What are your thought, my options and possible costs??? I want it to look good and perform just as well, radial would be nice but not necessary.

My mate Ian has a USD front end for sale at the moment

It uses ZXR forks and yokes with VFR stem.
The forks are K-Tech sprung, with preload adjusters on top.
It runs the NC30 front wheel with custom spacers made to fit.
also has GSXR 1000 6-pot calipers and braided lines.
Not sure on which discs he has fitted but look good with the blue centres
ZXR mudguard.
Looks and performs awesomely!!

All this lot for £510
here is a link if you are interested - would cost loads more if all bought separately!!

Looks nice that. They are EBC race discs, but not what I'm looking for. I don't like the styling of the fork bottoms, although I do like your Duc front. K5/6 1000 with the black nitride sliders is what I'm looking at but may have to sit through the yokes too far :(

I used one of Rileys fitting kits, and fitted a 749 front end.

I think most forks can be nitride or TiN coated and the black does look trick (anything other than the silver does ;) )

i think the zxr forks look well with the 1000 6pots but if it was going to be an USD project i think i'd have to use Honda items,600RR/SP-2/Blade...something like that

Been considering the USD route myself. Although unless anyone says im wrong and it is possible, I would like to keep Honda Style yokes which probably limits me to RVF forks.
