And another one!
Are the 3en steering stem and yokes fully interchangeable with the 3TJ?
I ask because if I've read correctly the 3en yokes are 41mm compared to the 3tj's 43mm
This would presumably allow me to fit a set of 41mm forks I have my eye on.
Is there any difference in the between fork width?
(i.e would my existing wheel and spacers fit without too much jiggery pokery?)
cheers

3tj wheels are narrower than the 3EN wheels, so you'd need diffent spacers. But the yokes are interchangeable (sp?)

Re: And another one!
Are you looking to fit TJ forks and are they standard ???
If so they're non adjustable and you can only fit the TJ's brake calipers - they're not bad ... but not such a significant increase.
ThunderCat front end will drop in though

According to a website I've been on the R6 USD forks are 41mm
If so then they should fit the 3en yokes. (unless I've missed something, which is highly likely!)

Re: And another one!
sorry got the wrong end of the stick, but im doing the same with a pair of 3xv r1 forks on my 3tj.ive had the 3tj stem pressed out of its yokes and pressed into the r1 yokes and am using a r1/r6 front wheel-let us know how you get on.i dont think you will find any usd forks that are 41mm most seem to be 50-52mm at the yoke, but keep us posted on your progress

Re: And another one!
So you've got a 3TJ and you want an USD front end ???
You can't just fit the forks cos the spindle is probably larger. When they say 41mm forks they mean the chrome stanchion at the bottom not where the triple clams are.
but there's this ... http://www.400greybike.info/newforum/vi ... =17&t=7478" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I think the steering stem is the same from 3en to 3TJ but can't swear it

Re: And another one!
Ahhhh bugger, the stantions are 41mm. That's blown that particular idea.
Interesting ducati mod in that thread though. It looks like it uses risers rather than clip ons.
I would prefer to stay yam if possible and ideally nice and modern also.
I'm keeping the zxr400 USD forks as a reserve option if all else fails.
Presumably if you use the r6 yokes with a 3tj stem you lose the steering lock due to the offset ignition lock?
I think the 3tj with a modern R6 usd front end would look awesome. Still I suppose I'd better fix my electrical problem first

Re: And another one!
Steering stems of all FZR's are the same and interchangeable IF you use the bottom and top yoke from the same bike!
