The throttle cables on my nc30 are sticking, throttle grip is really stiff and then it won't return.
Had a look at the throttle tube etc and that's not a problem.
It's the little housing in which the throttle cables are attatched to the carbs, it seems to be quite seized, turned it around with my hand and it took about 10 seconds to return.
Anybody got any ideas what could be the problem, maybe just needs taking off and cleaning?

Try adjusting the cables at the throttle housing end. Are they routed correctly?

Also, try slackening the cables off a bit.

had my throttle sticking, check the grip see if its causing it to stick, also take the throttle tube off and see if its ok. then lube the cable,

if the problem lies with the throttle cam(lobe),then either treat it with plenty wd40 or give it a strip down and clean it thoroughly.

after buildng it back up or after solving the issue treat it with some anti-corrosion formula to keep it moving nice and free.

Another thing to check and it may sound silly but remove the bar end, I had this one and it was the bar end clamping the grip slightly causing a slow return.

Like Wullvfr says it's the throttle cam that's sticking (Where the cables join the carbs)
I couldn't think of what it was called earlier so may have caused some confusion
Tried a little WD40 but with no luck, thought i'd ask on here first if it was common as i guess i'm gonna have to drop the engine from the frame to get to it.

Bike is currently half dismantled anyway, was just about to build it all back up before i realised the throttle was sticking!

Sounds like its the throttle butterfly shaft thats sticking (or the linkage the joins the two banks of carbs together), prob best to do a carb rebuild while its in bits, you shouldnt have to drop the engine just undo the carb rubber clips were the carbs meet the engine and give them (the carbs) a good pull, clean them down with some white spirit or turps before you open them up otherwise youll get more crap in them..

like the vicar say's,no need to drop the engine.just remove the carbs and strip them down.once they are off you will be able to see exactly where the throttle linkage is sticking or jamming.

Cheers again guys, got the carbs off and everything seemed quite seized, stripped them down and cleaned everything up. Used plenty of WD40 and it's much better now :D
