there are a couple of places ,and a couple of methods

M Max box,a small 2" by 2" box with M Max on it (funny enough) which joins into the loom at one of the cdi connector blocks, cost around £25/30

resistor,a 2.2k ohm resistor soldered into the loom between two wires which go towards making a connector block for the cdi,the black connector block if i remember, costs around 30p i think
or
the same resistor soldered into the loom behind the clocks to the wires which run upto the speedo

i'll get pictures later if you really need them
if the bike was a race bike before you got it i'd think it was already derestricted esspecially if it's running without a speedo

The restriction is within the speedo itself. a small metal plate attached inside activates it, the resistor will stop the restriction but if there is no speedo altogether as far as I know that will solve the problem anyway. At least all I id was disassembled the speedo and carefully prised the plate out.

Yep it will be derestricted if it runs no speedo. Check the cdi under the pillion area.

I have a spare derestrictor (jap Posh unit) if you want it, $20 posted.

I have been working on a friends VFR400 NC24 import and I've removed the speedo tab but this hasn't helped and the bike still goes to 80 kph and stays there. Any other ideas guys.
Glenn.

The black box is what derestricts it, so if you have it leave it in.
i wasnt aware that NC24s had this restriction????
I've never actually attempted to go that fast lol.
