Well after an unfortunate incident on my NC30 I need to replace all my fairings including those god forsaken mudguard brackets. Has anyone done this before and have any suggestions?
My current plan of attach is to drop the front yoke and steering section and pull the forks out from that then slide the new brackets over.
Does anyone have a better way of doing it.
Also for jacking the bike without a headlifting stand I was gonna pull the exhaust system off and put a chunk of wood under my hydraulic jack and lift from the bottom of the engine, is this a suitable method?

Re: Mudguard brackets
Yeah ive had mine up on a bottle jack or two with just a chunk of wood. Before i got a headstock stand i had to improvise too, i got a set of A frame ladders and a ratchet strap, throw the ratchet strap under the frame and over one of the rungs of the ladders. Alot more stable than the other trick.

Re: Mudguard brackets
unless you have a 41mm socket and want to regrease the head bearings at same time , remove the wheel slide the fork legs out of the yokes one at a time and get them checked for straightness if it hit something hard enough to damage the mudguard holders during your accident ? peace of mind if anything.

Re: Mudguard brackets
Cheers mate I'll do that.
The forks werent hit, the top of the mudguard went under the bumper of the girl who cut me offs car and pushed down on the brackets, subsequently snapping them. The forks werent hit in the accident so its all good
