Hi there all!! I have just purchased a bike on ebay (fzr400 4dx) the bike model is 1996. I was under the impression from research on the internet that they were official imports 90-95? Does that mean that my bike was first registered here a year later than it could have been imported?
Any comments or help would be much appreciated!!

a 4DX was the name of the model of the FZR400 that was originally for the UK market, i.e. it is not an import. result for you!!
the FZR boys will be along shortly to outline the exact differences between uk market bikes and jap market bikes

There aren't so many differences from a 3TJ

The rear light isn't as pretty
There's no top speed restriction
you get an oil cooler
MPH speedo

When they came in they were horribly expensive, more than the FZR600 so they didn't really sell to well. Yours was probably old stock that got sold off. Nice bike though and all the 3TJ mods apply

the 4dx is the 3tj for the european market
top speed is fixed on 230km/h and the speedo
is in km/h ...
