How do i change rear pads/removre caliper on NC30

Hey guys my rear brakes are well gone so i wanna do a rebuild i think the pistons are seized as it was sittin a few years (still starts first time every time!)
Sorry for such a stupid questionbut how do i get the caliper off?
Im not used to single sided swingarm so confused as to what bolts to take off etc,cheers :)

You need a haynes manual

Or one of the service manuals available on the "akhara" webiste.

There are two bolts holding the caliper on. You access the first one at approx 6 o clock under the sprocket - have a look down ther and you will see it. The opther is about 4 o clock adn I access it through the holes in my sprocket.

12mm IIRC.

The rear calipers are often scabby as hell and so be prepared for a few hours hassle... It is not the quickest thing to strip, clean, rebuild and bleed... But does give great satisfaction when you complete it.

Oh yeah forgot i have a Haynes manual!!!!
Calipers filthy so couldnt see too much brakes are well gone.
Startin to use the VFR as my everyday bike hope the brakes are good cos im very nervous on it

Just been trying to get the pistons out of my rear caliper to give it a good clean/service before I start racing and following the haynes manual i pumped the brakes without the brake pads in and sure enough one of the pistons came out fairly rapidly, however the other didn't budge. Is there an 'easy' way to get it out without putting the other piston back in, putting something in place to stop that coming out again and repeating the procedure?

The "easy" answer is no..unless you want to get hardcore with some mole grips or the like...

there are piston pullers available, they aren't that expensive, they go inside the caliper piston and expand, then you pull the piston out.
mole grips with layers and layer of electrical tape occasionally work. what ever you do. dont scratch the piston!!

used a water pump pliers with carboard to get my pistons out, grips well, no damage

put the other piston back in............

pump the brake until the free piston is almost out,using a g-clamp allow it to go no further and continue to pump the brake!!!

this should free of the really seized piston and pump it right out.then remove the other piston quite easily by pulling by hand as it is nearly out anyway!!!

Just had a look for those, Laser do one but cheapest I can find is Â£66.xx, think I'll pass :p

I did try mole grips with some tissue to prevent scratching, pulled as hard as I could and it didn't shift.

That's what I was thinking of as the 'hard' way, although I was gonna just lodge something in to stop the other piston, g-clamp sounds like a better idea though :p

I'll try that tomorrow afternoon, hopefully it all goes well and then it's on to the front brake's (they're not anywhere near as bad, don't even plan removing the pistons :)
