hi all,
ive taken my fairing off for the first time today n i have to say, they're abit of a mess :o cracks all over, repair work, n some of the fixing points r broken away where someones been heavy hander or dropped it.

anyway im posting for advice on materials and techniques for replacing missing bits, bridging small gaps and sealing cracks. it sound really bad now im writing this  but it cant be that bad if i didnt notice it till i took them off.

i was thinking it i got some plastic and cut n shaped it to fill the hole then plastic weld it together all the bits r hidden, apart from the back fixing on the L/H lower, which is missing all together.

im gonna sort cosmetics when its sterdy.

any help or advice much appreciated

gaz

.

my old original fairings with my NC29 have some pathes of fiberglass resins inside to areas where there are cracks. it's more durable than the plastic epoxy you can probably buy from a hardware.

I found some strips of plastic in the garage that I think are used as shims/spacers in the building industry to get bricks level when being laid. It turned out they were the same plastic as the panels off of my bike so I used a soldering iron to plastic weld the panels back together and used some of this plastic I found to fill holes and weld on new lugs etc. It works well, but very time consuming.
