I have finally tracked down a local UK NC30 R3L 1990 K Reg, but it sounds expensive.

What do you think?

1 owner, 700miles, kept in doors, unmarked and very close to like a brand new bike, was running a day or 2 ago.

I would be wary of running a 18yr old bike that had only done 700 miles.

I cannot imagine that the motor and the rubber pipework etc enjoyed the enforced lay off and so on top of the 5k I would want to recommision it.

You know the score though mate - how much do you want it??

You are right, it is too much money , almost collector not riding bike money, I would probably end up riding my existing NC and RCs.

agreed on ripping the arse outta it.

i think the mint 0 miles NC30 in MCN sold at auction for 5k or thereabouts, but that is a one off and will never be run by the owner.

if you have that type o money to splash out i would get a mint 20k-30k mile bike and get a half decent one for track and use all your spare change to have the bikes how you want em. Or get a good RVF and splash money on it and use the spare thousands on petrol, which should last about a week going by todays prices.

that VFR will need new tyres, chain(wouldnt trust the O rings after 18 years), oil, filter, air filter, plugs, brake fluid, pads and hoses, new coolant, carbs stripped and cleaned possibly a rebuild, new battery, fork oil, would bet on seals there too, new fuel lines and possibly hoses. also you will only end up wanting to upgrade the rear shock and fork springs.

give himm that list of to dos for an 18 year old sitting in my livingroom bike and see if he drops the price for a larf. :D

The bike is in a dealers showroom, he beat me to it, I knew it was coming up for sale but couldnt find where it was.

I have been looking for a UK one for a while, but most owners want to keep them, but then so would I.

I have a nice 16,000m red/black R3L that cost £1800 to buy and fettle to good order and is a joy to ride, so £5000 seems a long way from £1800 in terms of owning and riding pleasure, and I would probably end up riding my old one the most, saving the new one, so getting even less enjoyment from it.
