If it's the ignitech units then there's been a fair bit of positive discussion about them:

The unit looks dependable and flexible, sounds as though it will work well as long as the parameters that are loaded are suitable. I'm after one for my roadie eventually (not allowed for racing here!).

I'm pretty sure Rick Oliver on this site does a better deal than that ebay price.

+2

Bought one from Rick for less, feels like a very well built bit of gear, fired up no worries, havent had it on the road yet.

Refitted mine this morning and am impressed all over again with it.

It works and the bike loves it.
Picks up better, flies round the tacho and pulls harder from 7k to the limiter.. I have a good few degrees advance on it and running 97 oct fuel over the usual 95.

I will be getting back to back dyno uns on the CDI vs prog CDI before the end of the month so that will be interesting to see I am sure.

+ lots

they work.. whether a dyno will see a significant gain is largely irrelevant, its all about crispness and throttle response, and they deliver that in spades.

can be got directly

or through Rick

It looks similar to the programmable CDI’s that ChrisGSXR is selling over at Dynopro racing in Runcorn. I’ve recently had one of them fitted to my race bike which originally had an HRC CDI fitted. I believe most of these cdi’s are sold with the HRC ‘map’ as standard. The advantage of going to someone like Dynopro is that they can customise the the map on the dyno to give you a set up which suits your indivual bike. After this exercise more gains in BHP was achieved and a better torque curve. A couple of other handy provisions that we are going to use is a quickshifter that’s wired directly into the PROG CDI & shift Light. Chris has told me an example for the use of the adjustable rev-limit could be a certain track where say on a certain bend it would be better to hold it for a few hundred RPM rather than changing up a gear, in this case you could lift the RPM limit to suit.

There are a good upgrade, but I would recommend going to someone who can supply and set-up the unit for the full potential.

they are the same units.

straight from ignitech they come with an awful generic map, (I provided ignitech with the data they now ship with the zxr units) but its not hard to find the specs for the correct hrc/f3/whatever advance curve .. infact, most of the data is on this forum :)

but yeh, getting it custom mapped on a decent dyno will yield the best results.

+1 to Zimms comments...

You can`t beat a custom dyno set up for your specific bike but I can supply these units with a choice of decent plug & play maps and a few extra bits & bobs for less than the guy on ebay.

I should have the `proper` HRC map for the NC35 in the next couple of weeks if all goes well (thanks, Troy)

Mail me if you`d like a price list...
