Right ive herd this on here a few times now, the first i fought was a typo, What bennefit would you actually achieve from filling the singarm with foam??? And are you just adding more weight (small i know) to an already heavy bike?
Im confused

Hi Damien
The only advantage is to stop it filling with debris as it inevitably does. Before you do re route your rear brake line inside the swing arm and remember that if you do fill it, it's irreversable.
I wouldn't bother but I would re route your brake line.
Do you still want this seat unit? Wouldn't mind a nosy at this new bike of yours since I no longer have anything to tinker with!

It would also make your bike more boyent, so if you needed to use your bike as a sail boat i am sure it would help.

You can mount a brake actuated rudder on the rear caliper to give the bike more control in said sailboat mode

lmao, well if you planning a track day at anglesey or phillip island ever little helps, as far as weight it would be un noticable, similar to saying it would also stiffen up the swingarm
for me its just that it stops crap falling into the swingarm and getting caught up in the hub, aparently is common in down hill MTB racing too, a mate of mine who runs this site is gona do it for me and i was recomeneded by physcomatic to do it

I did a less involved mod than this, with everything BUT the swingarm removed, just poked some tight-fitting bits of foam rubber in the holes at the forward end.
Does the same job of keeping crap out of the hub, much more reversible and less farting about...
