Hi Folks,

How do you handle a non standard shimsize being needed - this is where my math has taken me so far but it seems the shims I can buy from wemoto only go up in 5's. Anywhere else I can go, or is it best to match with the closest shim (2.10 and 2.30)?

C1 Ex: 2.11mm
C1 In: 2.29mm

C1 In: 2.30mm

Thanks in advance folks!

Get in touch with a forum member called Rick Oliver. He does a shim exchange service, but if he can't he'll source you what you need.

you can also thin a shim by carefully mounting it in the jaws of a drill press, making sure its even by squaring it off against the EVEN press table, then put some fine sandpaper under the shim and on a low speed bring the chuck down lightly.. Measure at regular intervals and around different parts of the shim surface to ensure its even
