Decided today to clean and replace the fork seals on the NC24 as part of the rebuild, after some fun iv got the left hand fork done and sorted, come to the right hand fork (sod's law the one thats leaking badly) and the bottom bolt for the piston wont move, got the 1/2 drive cracker bar out and it starts moving but the fork is going round too, ok so i hold the fork leg and the bolt moves but it must be moving the piston inside too cause it wont come loose

So the question is how do I get it out??

Tried an impact wrench? The shock should get it off?

Failing that, a blow lamp and an impact wrench should move it.

Sorry dont think i explained it very well, its the allen headed bolt in the bottom of the fork leg, just cant seam to get the thing out at all.

I know it is, I rebuilt my set of NC24 forks not too long back. Had to use an impact driver to shock the bolt out, it kept turning if I used a big bar.

good luck! just make sure you have the correct size hex bit on the impact driver before using it else you're likely to damage the threads.

After a couple of shocks it should come free with the big bar.

Try putting a bit a pressure on the fork too as it should hold the inner bit from turning, good luck.
