Greeting to you all, just picked up a 1wg to convert to a track bike, this question must have asked before but here goes. Both the front brake calipers have seen better days and i'm wondering what alternatives would bolt straight on. Also, could anyone explain to me what blue spot calipers are. I'm also after some track bodywork, does'nt have to FZR i would make anything fit as i'm on a budget.
RICKY.

blue spots are an easy upgrade as the mounting holes are 100mm they bolt straight on and come off things like r6 fazers etc, type it into ebay and you'l see why they are called blue spots!
as for bodywork, no one does specific 3en1 stuff but anything can be made to fit if you try hard enough!
it is a 3en you have? otherwise they'll be some faffing to get blue spots to fit!
alternatively you can get a seal kit and braided lines which will improve things at a cheaper cost probably, you will prob need a different master cylinder to fun the blue spots, i race with standard calipers, hh pads and braided lines it stops pretty well!

Cheers for that, the bike is an old genesis model, never had anything like it before. The distance between the hole centers are 85mm and the lugs are 100mm. All advice is gratefully recieved.........Ricky.

Hmmm - 85 means the 3TJ's will probably fit right up and are 4 pot.
Maybe have a look around for a 3EN2 front end - these will be able to take the blue spots and use a 298mm disc (yours are 285mm) they also have 41mm forks.
