right for xmas i got a cigarette lighter to wire into the bike so i dont have to rely on the battery life of my sat nav when im using it but now the problem is were will i locate it?

its got a waterproof cap so when nothing is conected it is fully waterproof but when a plug is conected it wont be 100% obviously, after looking over the bike i was thinking th ebest place would be on the left hand sideof the bike inside the window bit of the seat unit, attacked to the chassic just infront ont he rear shock, it would be protected fromt he rain here and wouldnt get in my way (wire would run down the left infill pannel and have cocket far enough back so the plug isnt hitting left leg)

the only problem with having it here is its quite close 2 the engine and would get rather hot

my question is has anyone else fitted a cigarette lighter to an nc30/35 and if so where did the fit it?
and
would the plug melt being so close to the engine?

btw i way only have 1m of wire so without cutting and lengthening it it cant got up near the clocks, and if it was up there their would be loads of charger wire hanging everywere (not vbery neat) so not keen on that idea

Use a map and road signs.... it is magic

Saying that....if I was going to mount the charger anywhere it would be up the front of the bike rather than have wires traiing about.

I'm guessing you haven't got the TomTom rider then? I run my power cable down the left hand side too cable tied to frame and then under the infill.
All is ok as far as I know, no problems with the heat. It'll depend on the quality of the plastic lighter socket?! :D

This is the cable the tomtom comes with, but I think it's only for that one.

nah iv got a Becker, there bloody good for the price (i work at halfrauds so test almost every type of sat nav)

so no problem with heat you recon?

Mine's been ok, that's all I can go by really?! I saw on-line that you (not you, but halfrauds) are doing the Rider for £280 delivered, now that's a good price! :D

yeh, but i got mine for £100, its wide screen, full uk and europe mapping, speed camera, traffic re-routing, lane guidance and can play video's and music

and i went half with my dad so it only cost me £50

i think il go on a ride and see how hot it is under there, it cant get too hot or the airbox and undertray would start melting
