After fitting a new collector box to my NC21 I noticed that the front left downpipe stayed cool at tickover but heated up with a few more revs. The bike's been stood for 18 months hod a quick look at ht leads and Spark looks good So is it likley i need to give the carbs a good clean or just go out for a good run?

Howdo

I would swap the sparkies over to see if it follows and then you have eliminated one possible issue. I'll bet if it has been stood for 18 months then the carbs will be scabby and need a good clean out.

Would give it a decent run, as you said it has sitting for a while the fuel will be a bit stale.

If it does it after a run, clean you carbies and synchronise them.

did you make sure the rest are heating up quicker???

it could be possible that they all take a moment to heat up!!!

other than that just what's been said, swap the plug over and see if the same happens.

take the bike for a good run and see if the problem clears and if not then possibly clean the carbs

also check the coil that feeds the front two cyinders

disconnect the wire and give it a clean and make sure there is a good connection, just see if it makes a difference.

I would take it for a good ride first and see how it runs, if it's still poor then spend money on new sparkers. Then if it's still bad, do what the other lads say and clean the carbs.
