Fitting new renthal chain & sprokets

Alright lads just bought a new renthal chain and sproket kit just looking for some advice on fitting really. Just reading the haynes manual and it says if the original chain is endless the swing arm needs to be removed as it does have a split link. If this is the case i'd prob cut it off instead to save the hassle as i wouldn't be needing it. What you think?
Also is it easy to do a rivet link as i have never done one before?
Cheers :D

Make sure you loosen the front sprocket before you chop the old chain off...
Fitting after that is no worries - just take some time on the rivet link and it is no worries.
I kept breaking tools as I am cack handed so I just take mine to the shop and get them to do it for £15..lol

Rivet links are not everyones' cup of tea. I prefer to use a soft link, available from most half decent bike shops. You might even have a soft link that came with your chain. You'll need a rivetting tool off ebay for about £30 or just clip the split link on and bobs your uncle.
Like CMSJ1 says, undo the bolt that holds the front sprocket on before you hack off the old chain.

I use split links, there has been discussion here before about them and general opinion seem's to be 50/50, some use them, others wont touch them.

Thanks for the info lads got an idea now think i'm gonna go with the rivet link. Is the front sproket bolt undone with the chain on so that the sprocket can't spin round when trying to undo. I take it you must also apply the rear breke.
Cheers

Best to use a windy gun on the front sprocket bolt, thats i what i did when i dropped down a tooth, jumped round mates to use it and had it done in 10 minutes!

use a soft rivet link you can use two club hammers to bash the ends
Works perfectly once the end is mushroomed the chain cannot come off last bike I done it on was a fireblade no probs inc trackdays etc
