NC30 Water Pump Seals?

Hi Im just going through a NC30 with only 16km on the clock but its sat for 15 years. So far so good no dramas yet.

I'm currently on the water pump and sure enough it was blocked with stuff and has cleaned up. the impeller looks ok and the shaft turns smoothly. I'd like to buy some seals for it.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/313534371458 ... gIzbPD_BwE

It looks like seals can be had but the Honda manual gives nothing away on how to change them.

Question is, do these seals really need changing if all seems well? And how do you get the impeller shaft out if they do..?

Cheers!

I might be wrong, but I thought that if the seals went the pump was buggered?

What does the Service manual/Haynes actually say? Anything?

the waterpumps are a pig to rebuild as you need a hydraulic press and the correct drivers. The seals in your link don't really work (I know, I've tried numerous times!) and generally once you have removed the impeller which is a press fit, it never seats properly back on the shaft.

We can rebuild them at GF Racing and replace the bearings, shaft, seals, impeller and O-rings with new parts for around £150.00
