Intend to buy NC30 1992 but engine problem

Hi all,
I saw a NC30 "N" model (1992) for sale and for sure there are some work on it ... In particular, it seems that engine is turning and gets stuck after turning a bit, maybe because of valve or any other problem at cylinder head. Difficult to know without engine removal, so not easy to decide to buy it or not! It is around 4000€ so quite cheap with only 14mkm. I can handle most of other aspects but I am a bit afraid of big big trouble in the engine and not finding the right parts to repair.
Any thoughts on this? Advice would be higly appreciated
Cyrille

Are you sure it's not down to something simple like a failing battery?

It is just turning manually, no starter used. The guy from the garage tells me something is blocking, maybe valve is bend.

So - if you removed the timing cover bolt on the right hadn side - a big socket - and then turned the engine over by hand using a breaker bar/lever - does it feel OK?
Can you even turn it?
That one sounds fucked- so buy it as a rolling chassis for cheap....

Read it better - lol - a valve would mean piston to valve = fucked piston and probably valves. new heads can be had, but breaking the cases open to replace pistons is a much bigger piece of work

I am afraid it will be what you describe… probably if a valve if f* up, the piston as well. Yes, they removed the cover to get access to the crankshaft , turn it but get stuck one way and the other way.
I understand the garage is not ready to leave it at the price of a rolling chassis, i think i will try to find another one in better condition !
Thanks!

for 4000 EUR that would be needing to be a running bike for me.
Engines - you can get one refreshed for £1000 ish...it's a lot of moolah and these bikes are properly old these days.
You'll find one I am sure
