NC29 & NC35 populations.

Post by Foxy400 » Tue Nov 05, 2019 4:40 pm

I was always under the impression that there were more NC29's than 35's in the UK. But from looking at the used parts availability on eBay and suchlike it would seem to be the other way round. Over the last 2 or 3 years I've managed to put together a complete set of NC35 OE panels, including the nose cone. Some of them needed a bit of work and all have now had a professional respray. The bike is currently wearing Tyga bodywork but if I ever decide to sell the OE panels are obviously going to bump up the value considerably.
My NC29 needs a left belly pan section and side panels replacing but the only bits that ever come up are the tail sections and the occasional battered nose cone. Where are all the lowers and side panels? With all the tail sections around you would expect them to pop up every now and then, but they don't (except one from Fastline for £250!). I'm baffled :?

Excellent so i own a rare bike not one of those common rvf400 things you are saying
Never had to look for any of the fairings but I know you have been on the hunt for a long time, i will now keep an eye out for the fastline special though. Not to purchase just for a nosey

Good find, still less common than the vfr versions of Hondas 400's.
Would love an RC45 but unfortunately a little out of my price bracket currently unless it's a lottery win, but i never remember to do the lottery so owning one will never happen.

In 5 or 6 years of 400 ownership I've never seen another NC35, NC29 or NC30 on the road. Mine DO get used. Was out yesterday on the NC29, testing it after it's return from the menders (thank you Graeme France). Carbs fully fettled, various seals and bearings replaced, valve check, rebuilt CBR600 shock and more. Goes like a good 'un now. Rock solid on the bypass although decided to let a chap test driving a Porsche go once we hit 100mph, after all mine is 30 years old and his was brand new. Got them all round here, Porsche, Ferrari, BMW, Rolls, Bentley, Aston Martin, McLaren, Jaguar, so there's always a challenge if you're up for it.

I can admit that I haven't seen any other 400 for about 3 years - the 24's are now asleep for winter as is the 29, but one of the 35's may be out for a play on Friday.. lol - Unless its crap weather !!
