Yes I use one on track bike total loss and in road bike. Only thing I would say is don’t let them get totally flat as it kills them, use a special lithium battery charger and they don’t like starting the bike on very cold days.

My bike is only for road use, and in northern ireland in the winter its freezing and wet so the bike stays in the garage, so looks like a gel or acid battery for me!

Yep, run one on the road bike started fine down to freezing.

As long as the electrical system is good it should work fine.

Pretty sure the electrical system is good! Any pointer on how to check indefinitely tho?

There are some very good and very shit lipo batteries on the market and you usually get what you pay for..

soem of the cheap ones have very little or even no circuitary in them and can easily overcharge or die.. the better ones have control circuitary in them and some of them need special chargers too..

can be a good choice but i dont bother with them unless you are trying to save weight.

I use them primarily because you can leave them so long without them going flat, perfect for my track bikes when they can go 6 months without use plus that and they recharge so fast so perfect for total loss

Yes thats another good use for them that didn't come to mind the other day.

I cut apart a cheap lipo chineseium battery that had failed that i inherited from a friend to have a look at and literally there was nothing in it apart from the batteries daisy chained.. no circuitary or anything.. no overvolt protection etc.. nedless to say the batteries had puffed up been destryoed by the lack of circruitary.

shockingly bad.
