Hello all,
My drawn out re-commissioning of a bike that had sat for a good few years continues, fork seals had gone so dismantled forks for new seals and oil last night. The brass fork top rebound adjusters are Siezed solid and wondered if any remedies out there. Had the top of the damper rod off and withdrawn inner rod with needle on end and all seems fine, just won't turn at all and don't want to force it. Any thoughts appreciated.

Ok - hopefully as straight forward as that ! Will give it an over night soak - are the brass adjusters just sitting in a thread ?

The diagram is tongue in cheek but I’d use something like plusgas rather than WD.

Over night soak and they wont budge, don't know whats gone on there but also found springs were upside down as was one fork seal.
Just going to leave as is, the rebound punch marks are aligned so will assume its the standard setting on both forks and forget about it !

some corrosion must have set in.. various releasing fluids... maybe some gentle heat with a heat gun (no fire)
some freeze and release spray? and gentle pressure with a good fitting screwdriver (dont gall it)
and you might get them free.

Thanks - I dare say I would eventually free them but just leaving as is at the minute to avoid damage, measured the length of the inner rod with needle and its the same on both forks so whatever the setting is, its consistent and pretty sure its standard turns out, preload was set to standard.
As this fettling towards getting on the road goes on there will no doubt be other queries !
