i have recently bought a nc30 its stock apart from a full ethos system.

the bike idles fine when it is cold, but as soon as the needle on the temp gauge gos above 70 the idle becomes rough and when u close the throttle it just cuts out, and its a bit of a pain to start aswell when it is warm.

can someone please give me some advice on what to do.

Firstly service it. If you have bought it recently it may have been left.

Go for new plugs, carbs cleaned and balanced, new oil, choke cable etc. Then check HT leads are clean and undamaged, check and clean earth points and coil packs while your at it.

http://www.davidsilverspares.co.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; has a engine service kit consisting of air and oil filter and a set of spark plugs for only £58 which is a bargin since the spark plugs are £10 each, but remember you need a 8mm socket to get them out.

Would get some new carb rubbers before you start taking the carb off. Also a coolant change cant hurt especially since you have to move so much to get to the spark plugs/carbs.

This sounds like a fuel problem so if anything you should get the carbs done.

i think its a 13mm deep socket that you will need not 8mm.

it does sound fuel related,
does the choke work?
when you say idles fine when started cold is this with or without the choke?

Check the fuel tap lines, vacuum hose etc for any kinks etc, ect. When the bike gets warm it may be cutting off the flow in one of these hoses.

After that take a look at the carbs, clean all jets, check float height, etc.

If it runs fine cold it won't be the plugs, in my experience they either fire or they don't.

I just noticed that the pipe from carb 3 to the vac tap looks a bit dodgy, what diameter pipe should be there because the one there at the moment is about 10mm od.
are these the carb rubbers i need :

Have a look on the members list for a guy called Rick Oliver. He is a well respected chap on here who works for a Honda dealer in Norfolk way - he can supply you what you need for a decent price.

He also does upgraded kit too for when you have to spend some cash quickly! Fork kits, shocks, bars, this, that and the other...

ref the vacuum hose - I think it is 3mm internal dia.

ref the helpful forum - thanks! It has been noted by a few of the newer converts to V4 power (and greybike on the whole) that we are a good bunch.
