Competent mechanic needed

I'm looking for a reliable and competent mechanic to do some work on my NC35. I'm in the Wilmslow area of Cheshire and have tried two local mechanics who have both shown they're not as skilled as they claimed to be. One of them replaced a missing spacer (ie. he lost it) inside the rear wheel hub of my Yamaha with a piece of garden hose and half a dozen cheap washers! The other one left bits out when rebuilding a pair of forks (he reckoned they weren't needed :o ) and put the new seals in at an angle so they leaked.
Basically I need some one to check over the gearbox. I can find 1, 2 and 3 without problem and neutral is easy but 4, 5 and 6 get progressively harder to engage  There's no slipping or jumping out of gear. (I've posted about this before and checked the clutch as suggested but with no luck).
So does anyone know a mechanic in my area who's worked on these bikes and know's what they're doing? Bear in mind I can't really get they bike to them (I don't want to risk making it worse) so it would need picking up.
I did ask Rick Oliver but he couldn't help.
Cheers.

CRM, RO said you lived in my vicinity and may have some suggestions. I did email you but maybe it went astray.

Pete Alton at OTC in widnes. Not too far, and looks after many top racers, including us.
He races sidecars at top level himself, and builds all his own motors. The cream of top flight racing trust him with their stuff, so can vouch for his work, his prices and his honesty.

Thanks for the recommendation. Sounds just what I need. Email on it's way to Pete.

If you don't hear via email, a phone call may be better.
Pete is often in the isle of man at weekends, and in widnes during week.
