VFR400 carburetor assembly issues

I have removed the carburetors from my recently acquired non running VFR400 NC24 with the intention of cleaning them and discovered that the drain screws are not all positioned on the outside. According to the carb jetting instructions, which someone has kindly posted on this site, all four drain screws should face outward.

I have successfully worked on my RVF400 carbs but I have a trusty Haynes for that bike.

Could anyone tell me if this means the carbs have been swapped around or previously reassembled incorrectly?

Will they function effectively in their current position or do I need to disassemble and switch them around?

Last time I had this problem the solution was to swap the float bowls around, not the carbies.

All those float bowls are the same hand.
And i'm pretty sure it's the way the 24 came.

Thanks that would be logical if shifting around is the way to go

Appreciate your input hunter, it probably is the way the carbs come on an NC24. I found breaker's markings on the fuel pump and carbs, so wondered if they had been fettled

It's correct.

Top left / Bottom right (when on the bike) or flipped upside down with front bank of carbs towards you bottom left / top right float bowls drain screws face inwards..

long screwdriver through the V will open them.

a lot of the carb guide refers to the nc30 carbs.
