Are you using the standard linkage?
Also what weight are you?
People who run the bmw shock, and standard linkage use between an 800 and 850 lb spring so i would think you would need one in that area. the damping will be limited as the spring will be way too stiff.

I weigh 110kg geared up and only just get 30mm sag in the rear with a 975lb spring..
Which is a Nitron spring - 5" x 2.25"..
May be different across brands?

I'm 15st but it's my gfs bike she's 10st. It's got a 17 inch rear I've wound the spring down buts it's way too soft I dont know how heavy the spring is what's the best way to go also still on the standard linkage. Cheers

I can't recall the source but a table of spring values had most models and sizes of GSXR at 4-500 lbs per inch so they are way soft.
Penske have data on rider weight vs spring. A 120-160lb rider on an NC30 or 35 would want a 800lb/in spring which is what the factory fitted.

If you run an 800lb spring the standard linkage would work.
But again, the damping will be pants as the internals will be set for a much softer spring.
It may be better to sell the ohlins and use the money to get an HRC linkage from Rick Oliver and run a standard BMW shock.
This would be pretty much ready to ride and the damping would be pretty much there too.

The shocks going for a rebuild so i can get the damping sorted out to suit the nc while its away will get the spring sorted at the same time
