Is this (usually red / pink) suitable for use in my 1993 Super Four or should I use the old fashioned blue stuff? I will of course be flushing the system thoroughly whichever I use.

The colour doeant matter just make sure u got the right grade of coolant for your bike

The manual I have doesn't mention grade (in fact AFAIK there are only two types - old fashioned silica based (usually blue) and newer organic acid technology (red / pink) which is normally recommended for alloy car engines.

Make sure that it is silica free if I remember correctly its got something to do with the seal in the water pump.

OAT is just a bitter additive as antifreeze is sweet smelling and tasting and animals (mainly cats) use to drink it and die.

No, OAT is the corrosion inhibitor. The older technology is called (surprisingly enough) Inorganic acid technology.

AIUI (possibly incorrectly), the IAT coats inner surfaces whereas OAT stays in suspension which gives it the longer life.

All decent antifreezes have bittering agents added.

The stuff I have states it is silicate free so should be OK as that seems to be the only definite warning I can find.
