NC23 Gearbox can't find neutral

So I bought a bike that has had a crash. Front forks are twisted pretty bad but apart from that the rest is straight.

I can't get the bike into neutral at all. The neutral light doesn't even flicker at all when I go through the gears.

I can get through ALL of the gears no problem BUT can't get into neutral!!!

I've taken the clutch cover off and it all looks fine from that side. Drained the oil and no metal parts came out.

I don't know a lot about gearboxes but could it be as easy as a gear selector fork out of alignment???

Lastly, can someone please tell me if I can split the lower casing off without pulling the whole engine out??

Is there a lot of play in the linkage from the pedal to gear shaft or is the linkage bent, this is often the cause of problems. Can you not select neutral by hand (may need to rotate the rear wheel slightly while trying)?

The linkage is straight and true. Already tested that out.

Am going to remove the clutch basket and take a closer look at the selector fork tomorrow....am praying it's an easy fix!!

Thankfully I don't have to get to the gearbox now!!! The linkage was UPSIDE DOWN!!! Easy fix.
