Hi just got a vfr 400 nc21 want to flush radiator as the coolant is rust coloured as their is no manuals where is the drain plug or plugs also oil level do I use the dip stick screwed all the way home to check oil level. Thanks guys

run engine for 2 mins, let idle for 1 minute, remove and wipe dipstick, resting (dont screw in) measure level.. fail to run bike as above will result in lower oil level as top end can drain back down over time.

as for coolant drain.. remove water pump, screw on water pump with washer behind it (bigger bolt) is drain.

there are two additional drain bolts under the front exhaust headers.

might be worth removing thermostat and giving block and rad good flush with hose-pipe.

you wouldnt go far wrong with taking the water cover off the pump (dont take pump out block else all oil from bike will spill out) and check fins on water pump.. rust water often destroys fragile alloy pump rotor)
