Help im stumped!

Hi all this is my first lost here (inevitable really).. so here goes. I have a 92 gk76a.

The bike revs all the way in neutral but in 1-6 as soon as I hit 4.5k all the power is lost doesn't even feel like it wants to go. My guy is pretty certain it's electrical is stumped as to what. The ignition fuse keeps melting but not blowing. I've had whole new wiring loom. New solenoid. Ignition barrel and rectifier. Anyone have any ideas what else it could be.

I'm picking up alternator, starter, fuse box and pick up coils at the weekend but if anyone has any clue at all would be a massive help.

P.s carbs have been fully rebuilt, sonic cleaned and balanced. Last month. And the bike had a major service aswell at the same time.

It could be the cdi, check out this wiring diagram - http://s244.photobucket.com/user/alex23 ... 9.jpg.html

The 10A ignition fuse (3), feeds a lot of circuits, but if you say it takes a while to blow, then it will be a short circuit somewhere. I would put an ammeter (20A) in line with the fuse, and test the current draw on idle, and if it is not excessive (like nearly 10A), then let the revs rise and check the current draw.

I estimate a healthy bike would draw 2-4 amps when running.
You will need an ammeter to diagnose this really!

^ Actually it's more than likely the CDI.
The owner has or will soon have ,changed every other electrical component.

Is this on the road or on the rear stand ?

Have you a pic. of the wiring behind the gearbox sprocket casing.
Some 76a's have a restrictor circuit...mine doesn't so I cannot post a pic....

I am sure it is an extra connection on the neutral sensor switch...If it was compromised it maybe causing your problem.

Should be only milivolts through the gear sender switch. Measure the current on the red wire on the cdi plug

It had lain abandoned for a while after Martin was knocked off his push iron..
I have not had time to ride it as intended.
