NC35 frame - too hot to handle.

As has been said many times before, these bikes run hot. However the frame of my bike got very hot recently..has anyone else experienced this?
The temp gauge rarely passes half way, sometimes a little more, but surely the frame shouldn't be almost too hot to touch. The tank has the usual heat shield under it and the fairing is lined with silver, heat reflecting material.
Admittedly, it's been a roasting couple of days and the bike spent a lot of time moving slowly. Has this got something to do with it?

Yeah, they get hot. There's an engine right next to them.. ;-) Toasty thighs are a side effect of having a rear cylinder bank, especially when it is a hot day and the tank is running low!

I'm told the underseat exhaust header from the rear cylinder on a Panigale toasts your buns !
