Hi guys,

What type of engine oil are you all using in your VFR400s?

The workshop manual states 10W40 so no problem there but what type of oil have you found to be best for
these bikes - mineral, semi-synthetic or full synthetic?

The bike is going to be ridden on the road only (no track work) & won't be getting flogged too hard either.

I can get hold of pretty much all the major brands of oil here but would appreciate any feedback if anyone's
had good or bad experiences with any brand/type in particular.

Cheers, Andy

10/40 semi synthetic bike oil Some car oils have additives that can give problems with wet clutches As do some fully synthetics .

Yeah I use that, great stuff, quietened down the vfr, runs soo quiet an lovely on it, it was on offer, I use it in all me bikes. Never had any clutch problems.
Deffo don't use car fully synth oil tho. Although there has been some people using diesel car oils I think.
