Hi all, have had an interesting afternoon re-fitting my NC35 carbs on my NC30, using new (what appears to be) NC35 carb rubbers. Trouble is, the new rubbers seem so flexible that the blimmin' things kept popping out, getting an even amount of weight all-round has been near-impossible.

Used a dab of grease, and the front-in first technique, but the rears seem to sit about 2mm clear of feeling 'home'. Sort of getting there, but I'm not 100% convinced as none of the four seem to give that sastifying 'thunk' when in place.

Have I made a mistake by buying what appears to be replica NC35 carb rubbers? Best to fire the thing up and see if it leaks, or worth getting in touch with Mr. D. Silvers?

Grease may be masking the feeling.

I never use grease on the carb rubbers and they pop in and out just fine.

Shine a torch into the V and have a look at how they're sitting, that should give you a good indication. At least that's what I do when I'm doubtful

The replica ones are crap and cracked easy too. Only another 20$ for oem Honda from David silver.. With two flathead screwdrivers to widen the top two rear ones slightly and clamps fully loose, slipped right in straight away..

Goes to show that I'm a little out of practice when it comes to working on NC30s

Further research has revealed that the NC30 and RVF inlet rubbers are different (and have different part numbers), and that the listings for the RVF have different items for front and rear.

To David Silvers methinks, should have gone there first shouldn't I...

sorry but the pattern ones are junk. buy the proper 35 rubbers and you all will be well

There be a lesson to be learnt here - especially as OE was pretty much the same price as crummy imitations
