So as some of you may know I've been away for a while..ventured to the dark side and bought a ZX6 C1H trackbike, mega trick spec and very enjoyable to ride and ridiculously fast...however there was never anything for me to do on it and I had such enjoyment evolving my old NC29s into probably one of the trickest ever to grace this forum (even if I do say so myself) thread here if you are inclined viewtopic.php?f=62&t=25508.

So what do I do....I know I wouldn't be able to live with 65bhp on the track as thats the reason I sold the NC29 however I want the nimbleness of a 400 and I also wanted a project.

So £800 has landed me this....

NC23 frame, CBR600 engine, stupid exhaust...

Plan....

strip it down
NC29 swingarm
decent exhaust system
USD radial front end
Race loom
Digi Dash

Then other stuff....

Need CBR airbox if any one has one and a NC23 tank for starters...

Interesting build, I like the idea of the 6 transplant.

Would be interested in some engine dimensions when you start mounting as ive a few gsxr and bandit frames knocking about that could use a motor.

Good luck with the build.

engines already in, and its a fantastic job, welding on the spars is very good and the spacers are all hand turned.

The hard bit is done really, I'm on holiday for a week or so from today and have a few days before I go back to work so will be spending a bit of time stripping the crap off it and making a list if things I need to buy, also a list of things that I can sell to raise some funds as I still have some ZX6 spares to get rid of.

Unfortunately the airbox needs to be the 600.

Interested in the tank if it's the right money.

So whoever started this bike knew what they were doing with fabrication brackets etc...

this was so that the horrid pod filters could be mounted to the carbs, nice little job.

Image

this is the bracket that holds on the radiator (which is wider than a harly)

Image

the brackets that have been made to hold the fireblade subframe have took some thought.

Image

and the exhaust is great if you want wanky side by side exhausts

took the cabs off to send to mail order repairs and had a quick shufty and to my untrained eye look ok but apparently they leak like a bastard.

these have seen better days and are no longer pliable rubber but Bakelite!

so I've started doing stuff but this is gonna be a long road.

already have a Haynes on its way and that will help no end.

Shit loads of bits of kawasaki on eBay means in my head I have money to spend on ebay so I done brought this.

After a load of careful tracking back and forth I don't think the guy knew what this was...it's a Vance and Hines full 4-1 system for £120 delivered, there is another on there which would have been around the £160 mark and not in as good nick and also a set of standard headers and Yoshi link pipe and can for the same, bit of a bargain.

so with a Haynes manual, exhaust and airbox on the way and the carbs in the post to mail order supplies we are moving.
