Well I was in the garage today fettling the 76A and decided to eventually fix the unreliable fuel tap.

I had a spare that I purchased months ago that was supposed to be fit to replace the original one that was failing to shut off consistently....the spare shuts off perfectly but pours fuel out of the main seal behind the lever.

Rather than strip both and effect a temporary repair with parts from both...is their a better ,newer tap assy . from a later model ?

As long as you can strip the fuel tap, just replace the o ring with a viton one

No O rings in the 76A Tap......

A plastic cone is the valve for supply selection.

A seal with a metal surround is the method of preventing fuel escaping from the lever spigot.
To replace this seal.....which is not a service/spare part ...requires destruction of the tap body.....

I don't know about newer model . New taps are around £ 170 and I'm sure it's the same part number as a gsxr 100 m/n model

Donk...the gsxr 750 and 1100 use the same tap.

Unfortunately I cannot warrant a £170 tap on a £400 motorcycle.

A repair kit is available ;

but many have destroyed the tap removing the old inner seal and the plastic cone valve wears away allowing fuel to bypass the tap.

I was hoping for a later readily available tap that was the same fitment spacing.
Even if it was only one outlet without diaphragm operation.

I found a CBR600-f???? i think tap. The mounting hole spacing is the same and it has two outlets and diaphragm. It's not the best fit but it does go. The main issue is where the two outlets are, one out front one out back. It gets really close to the top of the carb on the back, and the front one means putting a new longer fuel hose in.
