I'm thinking of getting my exhaust coated on my type 8 as its still the original exhaust and I'd like to keep it in one piece as long as possible. Has anyone else had theirs done? I've been quoted £159+ vat .

I took my headers from my nc29 to a company that did them but came home without getting them done, as although they didn't have any holes in them they did have pot marks were the top surface had rusted and even though I had got all the rust off and they would sandblast them the pot marks would still show on the finished coating as its only a fine coating that is used. The coating is not thick like powdercoated, they did show me what it would come back looking like as they had an exhaust there that they had coated and did indeed show all the imperfections which I decided wasn't what I wanted.
I still have my original downpipes but sprayed them with pj 1 and bought a beet system for when they do get too bad to use.
From memory the company was called camcoat here is their website
