deristrictor + CDI's

Post by pptom »

Can someone please ID this pox, plugged in to one of the CDI sockets, I'm assuming its some type of derestrictor? (NC30)

I've also got 2 x CDI's, the first I think is standard Japanese (connected to the above box)

The second I think is a UK spec one (its on a UK ex race / track bike), although the writing is a little hard to read:

Any info on the above would be much appreciated please.

The bottom one looks oem and you can barely see the MR code so its OEM but no idea if its UK.

The top looks like the HRC derestrictor box. The early boxes like that had HRC in raised letters cast into the plastic but the later ones just had a white sticker saying "not for road use" in japanese on them so perhaps the sticker has been removed

Thanks chaps, no sticker or raised writing on the restrictor box, but happy thats what it is now. Found the HRC embossed one on Google images, and there doesn't appear to be any similar shaped products about, so it must be one of them.
Bottom CDI is on a UK spec bike, is there any other way of determining if its a UK one? I've no reason to suspect its been changed, but would be nice to confirm.

uk cdi doesnt have the speedo limiter circuit on it.

if theres no derecirtcion box / mod to it / loom and no speedo clock circuit then its probably a uk cdi.

Yes, that`s the quick i/d - the J-spec box has 6 wires in the 6-pin connector block, the UK-spec one only has 5 wires in that block, the orange/blue speed restrictor wire is missing...
